As you can see, the body lines and details are pretty correct for a replica body, adding the Lamborghini rear frame section and drive train will really complete the overall effect.

Look at how the rear end looked before we started working on it

The car was built using Corvette rear suspension, and custom built frame work, here is how it looked before we got started.

Original Chrysler V6 engine

The original motor was a Chrysler 3.5 liter V6.

Gary Zumalt removing the old components

Gary Zumalt, one of our excellent metal fabricators and a Lamborghini enthusiast, was eager to begin, and got right to work removing all the old components.

Chrysler moter and transmission removed

The first thing that had to be done was the removal of the Chrysler motor and transmission.

Cutting away the supports for the rear section

After the motor was removed, the next step was cutting away the supports for the rear section.

Removing the rear frame section

Then the rear frame section, including the Corvette suspension, was removed from the car.

Cleaning and prepping the remaining frame work

After all the old components are removed, the remaining frame work is cleaned up and prepped to be ready for the new reproduction Lamborghini rear frame section.

Fabricating the lower frame rail section

Now the fabrication of the new rear frame begins with the lower frame rail section, by using jigs to layout the tubing, we assure that the new parts will have the exact same geometry of real Lamborghini frame and suspension.

Modifications of the suspension pivots on the right side

Modifications had to be made near the suspension pivots on the right side due to the fact we will be using a Diablo motor, which has an off set differential, verses a Countach.
