1931 FORD PICKUP

Not all of our customers are located in the Midwest. Dave Muller had his 1929 Ford Pickup project transported to us from over 1,100 miles away! Dave began his truck build at his home in New Jersey. He had a running engine, rolling chassis and a cab mounted. There was just enough there to drive it around the block a bit. Then something unexpected happened…Hurricane Sandy. The Muller house took a hit and amongst the damage was the Ford. A foot of salt water filled the home and garage.  Thankfully the old pickup was on jack stands, keeping the engine and transmission out of harm’s way. However the suspension parts, brakes and some of the sheet metal were submerged. Dave decided he would hand the project off to a professional builder after researching online he chose HRE.

We received the vehicle and boxes upon boxes of parts and went right to work sorting out what had been done and what was required to complete the build. The cab and frame were stripped down and all the salt water damaged metal was treated, refinished, polished, or replaced. New fenders were ordered and fitted along with the other body panels.

HRE staff keep Dave informed about his trucks progress via photos, emails and phone calls.  We even mailed him samples that allowed him to confidently choose things like the custom paint scheme and interior materials, insuring he was satisfied with the final product…after its long journey back to Jersey.
